Mississauga, ONTARIO (PRWEB) June 05, 2014

Acer Canada today announced that it has been selected by Wolf Creek Public Schools to provide the district with a range of computer systems for students, faculty and staff in a contract that spans the next five-years. The agreement calls for Acer Canada to provide the district with Chromebooks, notebooks, desktop PCs and displays.

The school district will begin to deploy Acer systems this summer for the 2014-2015 school year. The initial roll-out will include up to 5,000 of Acer’s award-winning C720 Chromebook for use by students in 1:1 programs and in computer labs. The Chromebooks will be used by K-12 students at elementary, middle and high schools as well as in district learning centers.

Currently, Wolf Creek Public Schools allow students to bring in devices to support their learning. The school district plans to implement a purchase program whereby parents can purchase Acer C720 Chromebooks for their child through the district by making regular payments.

Over the next five years, Acer will also provide the district with TravelMate Pro notebook PCs, Veriton L4630 desktop PCs and B-Series monitors for use in classrooms, speciality learning labs, as well as by administration and staff.

Wolf Creek is a recognized technology and educational leader in Alberta school divisions in the area of purposeful technology integration within teaching and learning and often advises other school boards in Alberta and other provinces on the latest technology deployments.

“Our partnership with manufacturers, vendors and resellers is important to us, as we’re viewed as a leader in implementing technology that enhances the education of our K-12 students,” said Mark McWhinnie, Assistant Superintendent (Technology Services) for Wolf Creek Public Schools. “As a result, we’re often asked for advice around educational technologies from our colleagues throughout Canada. We chose Acer for both its experience with the latest technology and wide range of flexible service and support structures. We’re confident that working with Acer, we’ll be able to provide solid technology solutions for our students, administration and staff to further advance our vision of ‘Creating Success for All Learners’ in Wolf Creek Public Schools.”

An important component of Wolf Creek Public Schools’ selection of Acer was the company’s wide range of flexible service offerings. Acer’s extensive services and warranty options are offered at an excellent value to protect the investment the school is making. Acer is also able to provide product support to Wolf Creek Public Schools via its depot services, on-site at schools or through local dealers.

“We are honored to work with Wolf Creek Public Schools as they use Acer technology products to make a significant impact on the education of their students,” said John Way, Sales Manager, Western Canada, Acer Canada. “Acer Chromebooks have been incredibly well received by schools that need a cost-effective, easy-to-manage way to introduce technology to their students. In addition, the rest of the line including our TravelMate Pro notebooks and Veriton desktop PCs will keep students in labs, as well as district’s faculty and staff, access to the latest in Windows-based computers for work and studies.”

Like all of Acer’s education and business customers, Wolf Creek Public Schools are eligible for Acer’s Premier Service and Support from the company’s North America-based service operation. The district will receive dedicated Acer Premier Service and Support via their own direct phone number into the Acer level 2 support call center, which automatically places them at the head of the call queue. The Acer Educare Warranty Programs further protects the investment of Acer computers and displays with solutions such as battery replacement, paid two-way shipping, and accidental damage protection.

Acer is the No. 1 vendor in Canada for notebooks and the country’s No. 3 overall PC provider.(1) More information about Acer and its products in Canada can be found at http://www.acer.ca.
