RealtyTech IDX123 Facebook Edition

Thousand Oaks, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2014

RealtyTech Inc., a national Real Estate software and marketing corporation, has just launched a new Facebook IDX solution for Real Estate Agents, Offices and Companies. The new RealtyTech “IDX 123: Facebook Edition” enables Agents and Offices to directly display, share and introduce their Facebook contacts to live listings while they are active on Facebook, the most visited website in history.

“This is a game changer; there are over 650 million Facebook users worldwide and over 150 million in the USA alone,” said Richard Uzelac, President of RealtyTech Inc. “There are many reasons for Real Estate Professionals to be active on such a huge stage as Facebook. For one, users spend over 700 billion minutes on Facebook per month and over 2.5 million websites integrate with Facebook. With our new IDX123 System: Facebook Edition, Agents can now setup shop right on Facebook’s exciting platform. Users no longer need to leave Facebook and go elsewhere to engage in all of the active and sold listings provided by the MLS.”

Real estate professionals can take full advantage of the Custom Search Links feature of the IDX123 system on the new Facebook Edition. Agents can tailor the links displayed on their Facebook profiles to match their specialized areas.

“In addition to a full advanced search, Agents can instantly create direct search links, such as ‘Malibu Estates,’ and add those quick search links to their Facebook page so users instantly know Agents’ areas of expertise,” Uzelac explained. “The options are almost boundless here.”

RealtyTech will be rolling out the new IDX123 Facebook Edition in Southern California and South Florida in phase one of the launch Monday, December 15, 2014.

ASAP Systems Makes Headway in the Environmental Solutions Industry by Providing MBC with Its Scalable Online Inventory and Asset Tracking System, BarCloud

ASAP Systems Makes Headway in the Environmental Solutions Industry by Providing MBC with Its Scalable Online Inventory and Asset Tracking System, BarCloud

Online Asset Tracking- Environmental Solutions

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 30, 2014

MBC, located in South Island, New Zealand, is a company that has specialized in environmental solutions involving project management, animal control, vegetation services, and erosion control since 2007. The company’s recent client growth and expansion into new areas of business prompted them to purchase a substantial amount of new equipment (assets) such as computers, laptops, generators, satellite phones, GPS devices, radios, and more. In order to manage the increase in assets, MBC wanted a cloud-based asset and inventory system that could monitor the location and status of assets anytime, anywhere.

Using Excel to track hundreds of moving assets (in-office and off-site) was ineffective for MBC because it failed to provide real-time inventory operations data. The unsophisticated system was not capable of tracking equipment that frequently changed users and locations. Adding to the challenge, employees worked simultaneously in a number of unique job sites, from inner city Auckland to remote mine sites and forests. Company managers were having trouble keeping their employees accountable for the equipment they used; they wanted to avoid the occurrence of employees losing equipment in “the bush.” In addition, management sought to track equipment maintenance activities to extend the useful life of their assets. Without this high level of asset control, the company failed to oversee which resources were being used, where they were being used, and what was still available.

After researching online, MBC chose ASAP Systems’ BarCloud, a SaaS application in the cloud that allowed them to visualize a more accurate picture of their business, especially when it came to their inventory of assets. After initial training, the team could easily input asset data into the online system database and begin checking out or loaning out equipment to employees spread throughout New Zealand. Management received the level of oversight they desired through the ability to view the real-time location, status, and user of equipment online. In addition, BarCloud gave them the ability to log scheduled and performed equipment maintenance tasks as well as rename the data fields and tabs in the system. At the end of the day, the company could focus more on environmental solution strategies by spending less time managing spreadsheets. ASAP Systems was able to save the company time and money through better visibility and control of their assets.

“ASAP Systems’ BarCloud stood out because it would give us the ability to grow into the online system as our company grew,” said Adam Walker, Technical Manager at MBC.

GeriJoy and Pace University Win Pilot Health Tech NYC Award to Introduce Avatar-Based Caregivers to Mount Sinai Hospital System

GeriJoy and Pace University Win Pilot Health Tech NYC Award to Introduce Avatar-Based Caregivers to Mount Sinai Hospital System

Victor Wang, Founder & CEO of GeriJoy, petting a GeriJoy Companion

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 03, 2014

After a highly competitive screening process, Pilot Health Tech NYC, a partnership between New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Health 2.0, announced $ 1 million in grants to fund the adoption of innovative healthcare technologies in New York. GeriJoy and Pace University are among 11 award-winning innovator/provider pairs. GeriJoy and Pace will conduct a pilot, budgeted at close to $ 250,000, to introduce avatar-based care services to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital.

“We are honored to have been chosen by NYCEDC, Health 2.0, and their panel of experts for this award, and we are thankful for our continued partnership with the outstanding team at Pace University,” said GeriJoy CEO Victor Wang. “The city of New York is a hotbed for healthcare information technology and entrepreneurial activity, and with the phenomenal support that we are receiving through Pilot Health Tech NYC, I know that GeriJoy will make a great impact on the healthcare and startup ecosystem in NYC.”

GeriJoy provides virtual care services through the GeriJoy Companion, which appears as a lovable dog or cat in a specially configured tablet device, available to an elderly person round the clock. Through the live support of GeriJoy’s remote care staff, who see and hear through the camera and microphone on the tablet, the pet talks with the older adult intelligently and compassionately about topics including family photos, news, and daily routines, providing companionship, stimulation, and family connection with no technical abilities required of the older adult.

The GeriJoy Companion reports back to caregivers to provide increased clinical insight and awareness of the patient’s condition. One of the aims of the Pilot Health Tech NYC project is to harness GeriJoy’s cost-effective, round-the-clock companionship and oversight to help mitigate danger due to delirium, the most common complication of hospitalization of older adults. Studies show that total direct healthcare costs attributable to delirium may range from $ 38 to $ 152 billion per year in the US.

“This simple to use avatar-based technology is a one-of-a-kind 24/7 companion to older adults, especially successful for dementia and delirium patients as we found in our beta pilot studies,” said Professor Jean Coppola, PhD, of Pace’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems. “Families showed extreme gratitude for the virtual companionship for their loved one with the tablet-based cat or dog. Live, behind-the-scenes, well-trained staff offer families peace of mind.”

“GeriJoy has proven itself to have a major impact on quality of life for older adults,” said nursing professor Sharon Wexler, PhD, RN, of the College of Health Professions at Pace. “We are very excited to bring this cutting edge technology to older adults hospitalized at Mount Sinai Queens.”

During the pilot at Mount Sinai Queens, inpatients who enjoy their GeriJoy Companion during their hospital stay will have the option to take their GeriJoy Companion home, where, in addition to providing general companionship and oversight, it will serve as a health coach to prevent readmission to the hospital. Under GeriJoy’s new CORE (Clinical Observation, Reporting, and Evaluation) Program, GeriJoy Companions can be assigned to ask patients specialized questions about their daily behavior, tailored to their clinical risk factors. The GeriJoy CORE Program focuses on three primary risk factors for preventable hospital readmissions, which hospitals are penalized for under the Affordable Care Act: heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), and pneumonia.

For example, propping up the legs of a congestive heart failure patient when sitting is an effective way to reduce risk for further complications, and one of the questions asked by the GeriJoy CORE Program of heart failure patients is, “Have you been propping up your legs when you sit down?” The data resulting from these friendly coaching conversations are analyzed by GeriJoy and reported to clinicians such as registered nurses or care managers, who use the insight from real-time alerts as well as weekly summaries and trends to better evaluate and mitigate risk factors for hospital readmission. PricewaterhouseCoopers reports that preventable hospital readmissions cost the U.S. health care system an estimated $ 25 billion annually.

Pace and GeriJoy were originally introduced through Pilot Health Tech NYC’s matchmaking events in 2013. Pace had already completed a pilot study investigating the therapeutic and quality of life benefits of the GeriJoy Companion for the elderly, using resources from a Verizon Foundation grant it received to support innovative technologies. The study, entitled “I Am Dougie, Your Virtual Service Dog: An Intervention to Address Loneliness in Older Adults,” was conducted with home-bound seniors at Henry Street Settlement in Lower Manhattan. Findings included “improvement in speech, attitude, outlook, and behavior” of the older adults, who were originally “apprehensive,” “uncooperative,” and “belligerent.” Results were presented at the Aging in America 2014 conference and published in IEEE LISAT (Long Island Systems, Applications, and Technologies) 2014.

“Victor Wang, whose genius created the GeriJoy, has been listening to our feedback and continuously improving upon his amazingly creative and insightful technology which uses a tablet computer to connect isolated older adults with live human responders 24/7,” said nursing professor Lin Drury, PhD, RN, of Pace University’s College of Health Professions. “In our upcoming Pilot Health 2014 project the virtual service dog not only serves as a companion, but as a good natured health coach.”

About GeriJoy

GeriJoy Inc. was founded by MIT researchers Victor Wang and Shuo Deng to improve quality of life for seniors and caregivers through friendly technology. The GeriJoy Companion, their flagship service, is a virtual, talking pet that is backed by GeriJoy’s worldwide team of 24/7 care staff. These dementia-trained remote caregivers guide the pet’s speech to provide elders with the experience of having an always-available conversational companion and friend. In addition to improving mental health for elders, the GeriJoy Companion provides peace of mind and valuable care management insight for family members and caregivers, through the web-based GeriJoy Family Portal. GeriJoy has been recognized by organizations like AARP, TEDMED, and the US Senate as a leading innovator in senior care. For more information, please visit http://GeriJoy.com.

A New Imaging System Improves Accuracy for Dental Implants in Wilmington, NC at Cook Periodontics and Dental Implants

A New Imaging System Improves Accuracy for Dental Implants in Wilmington, NC at Cook Periodontics and Dental Implants

Dr. Phyllis and Deana Cook brings a new imaging system for improved dental implant placement in Wilmington, NC.

Wilmington, NC (PRWEB) December 13, 2013

Dr. Phyllis Cook and Dr. Deana Cook now offer the use of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging system for improved placement of d ental implants in Wilmington, NC.

This system is widely considered to be more revealing than traditional dental x-rays. With CBCT imaging, they can more accurately understand the anatomy of a patient’s dentition, including the soft tissue and nerves present in the face and jaw. This allows them to better plan for the size and exact placement of dental implants to replace missing teeth, while avoiding nerve systems and other potentially complicating structures.

CBCT imaging uses a digital machine that rotates around the patient’s head to capture hundreds of images very quickly. iCat CBCT uses a cone-shaped beam of radiation which is projected at the patient. Data is collected by scanning software that can be used to construct a 3-dimensional image of the patient’s head, jaw and neck. Cone-beam imaging is widely considered to be very useful in the field of implant dentistry. The iCat allows dental professionals to fully visualize the necessary angle, placement site and size of dental implants before surgery. By utilizing the iCat, dental professionals are able to use their preferred software system for treatment planning from start to finish.

Dr. Phyllis Cook and Dr. Deana Cook prefer to use iCat CBCT over traditional dental x-rays for a number of reasons. Traditional x-rays only take one image at a time. They expose the patient to more radiation than iCat CBCT, and are potentially harmful to the environment because of the chemicals used to produce the image. They also fail to show soft tissue and nerve structures as clearly as CBCT imaging.

The responsible use of cone-beam imaging has been sanctioned by the American Dental Association Council on Scientific Affairs in cases where the dental clinician believes that use of CBCT will aid better clinical results in a patient. Dr. Phyllis Cook and Dr. Deana Cook use CBCT both to diagnose and treat periodontal disease and also for more accurate placement of dental implants. Patients with missing teeth who may be interested in implant dentistry can learn more at http://www.cook-perio.com.

New Editions of Moab HPC Suite Enhance HPC System Efficiency

New Editions of Moab HPC Suite Enhance HPC System Efficiency

Provo, Utah (PRWEB UK) 14 November 2012

Adaptive Computing, the largest provider of private cloud management and High-Performance Computing (HPC) workload management software, today announced the release of two new editions of its Moab HPC Suite: Application Portal Edition and Remote Visualization Edition. These two new solutions are designed to leverage next-generation access models to simplify the collection and interpretation of data, improving the time it takes to achieve meaningful results.

Moab HPC Suite – Application Portal Edition

With an integrated NICE EnginFrame application portal, Moab streamlines the process of accessing job information by making it all available from a single point – applications, data, resources and job submissions – thus keeping costs to a minimum throughout the design and research processes. It supports the most common ISV and open-source applications used in a variety of disciplines, including manufacturing, energy, life science, government and education, without requiring users to undergo specialized HPC training. Data is also stored efficiently to minimize the need for file transfers.

It also makes it easier for users to collaborate on jobs, while maintaining security through standard browser access. This allows users both inside and outside the organization to access the data, which is encrypted for transmission. Access can be granted based on user groups, applications or resource parameters.

This edition of Moab also reduces costs by improving the efficiency of accessing and sharing the centralized pool of resources. Its advanced scheduling policies allow maximum HPC resource utilization by more users. Application licenses are also pooled to reduce costs and improve service to users. In addition, policies and usage budgets are enforced to ensure that service level agreements are met and project priorities are maintained. This enables optimized use of the centralized HPC storage capacity.

Moab HPC Suite – Remote Visualization Edition

The new Remote Visualization Edition of Moab allows organizations to take advantage of the ability to consolidate workstations into centralized resources, saving money and making specialized computing resources available to more users. This reduces management costs by keeping overhead low, as well as keeping network congestion at a minimum by removing the need to transmit full data sets. The result is less data transfer time lags for users. Less data transmission in turn reduces energy usage and storage costs as storage is centralized. This approach also minimizes security risks, keeping data sets closer to the centralized computing resources. Its shared pool of resources also decreases software licensing costs.

The Remote Visualization Edition also provides guaranteed shared visualization resource access for users, with automated policies and budgets that enforce priorities and service levels. Moab’s allocating and scheduling policies enable workload packing, allowing optimized utilization of GPUs and other accelerators, as well as multiple Linux user sessions on a single machine. Changing demands within workloads can also be better managed by Moab’s ability to dynamically re-provision the operating system as needed.

Moab HPC Suite – Remote Visualization Edition also includes an integrated NICE EnginFrame Views portal, as well as NICE Desktop Cloud Visualization, allowing secure remote access to cloud sessions with ideal compression, in Linux, Windows or virtual environments.

Moab HPC Suite – Application Portal Edition and Moab HPC Suite – Remove Visualization Edition is available in November from Adaptive Computing as well as through our partner, HP and HP’s reseller and integrator partners.

“In order for our customers to get the most out of our cluster technology, it’s important that they be able to schedule and allocate resources as effectively as possible,” said Jan Wallenberg, CEO of Go Virtual. “That’s where Moab comes in. Its efficiency makes a significant difference in the user experience and overall performance of the system.”

“We’re excited to see NICE EnginFrame and Desktop Cloud Visualization included in these latest versions of Moab,” said Andrea Rodolico, CTO of NICE. “Integrating our leading edge HPC portal and remote 3D visualization technology into the framework of Moab makes it an even more capable product, enabling greater usability and productivity for HPC users.”

“These latest editions of Moab demonstrate our continued commitment to improving the user experience of Moab as well as the back-end functionality,” noted Michael Jackson, president of Adaptive Computing. “By integrating the latest technology from other industry leaders into our solutions, we are making HPC systems run more effectively, which means manufacturers and researchers can more quickly bring their discoveries to the world.”
